A Vent!!!

I'm sorry, but I just need to vent!!!!

Why is it that some people are just your friend sometimes. Now, on the other hand there are those people who are always your friend, no matter who is around or no matter what they are doing. I call those people my 100% friends and I would like to think that I am one of those people to my friends. However, those kind of friends are not the ones I want to vent about.

This past year alone I have had TWO "friends" who have totally cut my out of their lives. Now, I am not talking about the kind of friend who you only speak with occasionally, but these women where very much a part of my life and who I considered as some of my closest friends. I'm not going to lie, these two instances have really affected me. It made me so sad (to the point of having a hard time sleeping at night) that I lost these two friends in my life. I'm going to be honest and tell you that these two separate instances actually happened quite a few months ago, but these last couple of days I have been in kind of a funk so, I thought maybe it would help for me to just write it down. So anyway....... when I think about this, I can't help but wonder, is it me? Am I really that awful of a person that two close friends would just drop me like I was nothing? If I am one thing, I would like to think of myself as a VERY GOOD FRIEND to my friends. My husband and my mom even tell me sometimes that I am too good of a friend. I don't know, maybe I have been wrong all along. Maybe I'm not as good of a friend as I thought I was. I know I have been blabbering, but for some reason I just really need to get this off my chest. Like I said, it really hurt me when I lost those two ladies as my friends.

I think something I need to do is make sure that I continue to be a "100%" friend to the friends that I do have and stop dwelling on the friendships that I have lost. Man, sometimes I feel like I am still in High School with how often I get my feelings hurt. Am I alone with this one? Are any of you as sensitive as apparently I am?

Now I do want to give a shout out to a couple of women who truely are amazing and have always been a great "100%" friend to me. Thanks for listening to my woes and for not judging me!!!!!

Here is Penny, Melissa and Myself
(gotta love friends you can be crazy with)
And of course my sister!!!!! She is my eternal 100% friend!

Boys Room

Since we moved into our new house we have wanted to redo the boys room. This week was spring break and so we finally decided to do something with it. Of course we waited until the last few days of the break, but oh well it got done :)

Of course I don't have any before pictures because why would I think to take those. I can describe it though. It was a very very light blue with walls that looked like they went through a war. They were so dirty and beat up and that is how we got them when we bought the house. The lower part of the walls were covered in teeny tiny holes. We think that they must have had wallpaper up and then used the kind of wallpaper removal tool that puts a bunch of little holes in it. Unfortunately the wall paper wasn't all that got holes put through it, but the wall too. Then, instead of filling the holes they just painted right over it. Lovely, I know!!!! Luckily for my boys, I am not that way and so I filled as many of the holes that I could see and I know that I still missed some. Anyways, I know that I am starting to ramble.

For the boys room we are thinking of doing a somewhat Outer space theme. So, we painted the ceiling and the top half of the walls a darker grayish blue and the bottom part of the walls a creamy white. Since we were going to paint the ceiling I didn't want to do the whole wall in the blue because I didn't want my boys to feel like they are living in a box. We also decided that a chair rail would look fabulous so we installed one of those between the two colors. We have never done a chair rail before so, my mom came over and helped us for a long time. Thank you MOM!!!!!!! We still need to do most of the actual decorating, but so far I love it!
THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!!!

Happy Spring

First Picnic of the Year!!!!
Today was the first day of spring break for Les and the last day of school for the kids before they begin theirs. The weather is absolutely gorgeous today and so we decided to have a little picnic. It is the first picnic of the year and also our first picnic at our new house. I know we were lame to get McD's, but having the picnic was a last minute decision and we were going to McD's for a specific reason.

Yesterday at school B lost his lunch money at recess and he was pretty upset about it. Of course, I didn't find out until after school so I couldn't bring him up anything. Apparently they were so kind as to give him some fruit, milk and crackers at no charge (please sense my sarcasm). I really wish the school would just do an IOU program. I understand that there are probably lots of people that would take advantage of it, but there are also a lot of people that would be honest and pay their balance in a timely manner. So, anyway..... I told B that we would bring him up McD's for lunch today (something that we have never done at this school) so, he was pretty excited. I really hope that today's lunch was way better for him then yesterdays.
