New Preschool!!!!!!

Happy Boy!!

Today Logan started a new preschool!!!!! The week before Christmas I went and had him evaluated for a speech and language program with the school district. During the evaluation they agreed that he qualified for one of their speech and language preschool classrooms. Last week we took a tour of the school and then on another day we meet with the teach and speech therapist and talked about some goals for him.
During the evaluation they tested other things like his comprehension and with that he tested average, if not slightly above. So, we know that when he is talking to us he is answering appropriately, but the problem is he can't articulate very well. So, our goals with this preschool setting is to work on his articulation. As his mother, I can understand him I would say at least 85-90% of the time, but I know that other people have a hard time understanding what he is saying. We really want him to start Kindergarten in the fall and I want to give him the best advantage possible. My good friend Penny has always said such wonderful things about this school because her daughters have also gone there. (However, they did not participate in the speech and language program.) I feel really good about this and I am excited for Logan to get some more help with his speech. It is funny because even with the amount of times that we say "What?" to him, he very rarely gets frustrated with us. I feel he has really been blessed in that aspect. We just love him so much and are just so happy that he gets to be a part of this preschool.
By the way, he really loved his first day. Today was gym day and he got to ride some bikes and go on the obstacle course. (His brothers are jealous that his gym has bikes that you can ride on.)

Bring on Second Grade and Kindergarten!!!!

Today was the first day of school and the boys in my house couldn't have been more excited! This year Bradyn is entering the 2nd grade. I can't believe it myself. And Parker is starting Kindergarten!!!!!!!
Here are all the kids after we arrived at the school. I totally forgot to tie Audrey's hair back so she can't see a thing.

Here is Parker seeing his classroom for the first time. Look at that happy face.

He even gets a locker. So awesome!!!!!!!

Here he is at the end of the day. He doesn't have a happy look on his face, but trust me he had a blast.

Preschool Graduation

Today was Graduation at Parker and Logan's preschool. I always love going to this event because it is just so cute to watch. They had a Candyland theme and the decorations were great. I am not posting that many pictures because something is going on with the printer right now and since that is how I upload my memory card I can't get my pictures onto the computer. My friend Lisa posted these pictures online and so I just copied them. (Thanks Lisa) I will put more pictures up later since I don't have any of Logan right now.

Here is Parker with his fellow graduates. He is the 3rd from the right if you can't tell. Don't you just love those little cap and gowns? I remember when Bradyn wore it 2 years ago. So cute!!!!! Logan was sitting on the other side of the stage with the rest of the kids who will not be moving on to Kindergarten next year.
Here is Parker with his "girlfriend" Brooklyn, but don't tell him that :) We spend a lot of time with Brooklyn and her mom Lisa so, they are great little friends. I have been so lucky to have Lisa to hang out with a ton this year, it has really made the year super fun. Now that Parker and Brooklyn aren't going to preschool together anymore we won't see each other quite as much :( However, I know that the two of them are both so excited to start Kindergarten next year.
Congratulations Parker for doing such a great job in preschool!!!!!!! Also to Logan, who transitioned into school so nicely it was awesome. I think it was a real blessing that he had Parker with him for his first experience into the world of school.

Kindergarten Round up

Back on May 8th our school district had Kindergarten Round up. Parker was so excited to go and see the school. It is pretty funny because on the way there we passed his preschool and he said "Logan goes there by himself now right, because I go to Kindergarten now." I had to explain to him that no, this was just a time that he could go and see the school and Kindergarten classrooms, but that he wouldn't actually be starting Kindergarten until after summer break. (My kids all know what summer break means, since their dad will be off too. We talk about it a lot.) I think he also thought that I was just going to drop him off and so I had to tell him that no, I was going to stay at the school too. It is so nice because once we got there they take the kids down to the classroom to do some activities and then us parents stay back and have an information meeting. I was excited for Parker that he was able to go to the classroom without me and have a mini Kindergarten experience.

I am so excited for him to start Kindergarten because I know he is ready and will do great. I think it will be hard for him that he is only going for 1/2 day because in Texas Bradyn went to Kindergarten for a full day. I don't think he will be very happy that he doesn't get to have lunch at school. Luckily he has a little friend who is in Kindergarten right now and he sees that he comes home for lunch and so I think that has helped to prepare him.

After the parent meeting and the classroom fun, the kids (and us parents) were able to go on a bus ride. One thing that is really great about this school district is that if you want, they will transport all AM Kindergartens home from school, even if you are within walking distance. Here, Parker is taking his first school bus ride with his friend Ty. Ty is a little boy who lives next door and they just love playing together. I love this picture of Parker, I love to see that happy smiling face.

Just about had a heart attack today!!!

So, this morning I was out with the kids and my cell phone rang, but I didn't get to it in time. I didn't really recognize the number at first, but I could tell that I had seen it before. So I called it, but it just brought me to the District office of Bradyn's school. I thought OK, well hopefully they leave a message. Well, a minute or so later my dad calls so I ask, "Did Bradyn's school call you?" He is on the emergency card so, I just assumed since they didn't get a hold of me they must have called him. Well, he says no, but they called the house and talked to Grandma Jackson. He then tells me that they were wondering were Bradyn was and that he wasn't there at school. PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!! I said, "WHAT, I sent him to the bus this morning, but I didn't physically see him get on I just saw the bus pull up." Needless to say I was COMPLETELY FREAKING OUT!!!! I immediately called the school because luckily I had the number programmed into my phone. I told the secretary what I was told and she said, "No, we called because Bradyn says that his stomach hurts." Instant relief!!! I was like oh, OK I will be there soon to pick him up. I called to tell my dad that everything was OK because he was worried too. Of course, I immediately assumed that my Grandma was at fault because she really cannot hear very well. However, when I got home and asked her what the school said it was obvious that the misunderstanding was on my dads end. Either way, I am so grateful that everything was just a mix up because of course I started thinking the worst when my dad called. My kids are all home safe and I am good!!!!!!
